Abstract

The diversity of biodiversity recorded through academic studies reveals the importance of the Merbok River to the local ecosystem. Academic studies in the Merbok River area have been able to record a total of 39 actual species and 25 associated mangrove species in the Merbok River mangrove forest. Apart from that, this area is also recorded more than 35 species of fish, 9 species of shrimp, 80 species of permanent birds of Merbok mangrove, 30 species of migratory birds, 8 species of mammals and 13 species of amphibians which clearly reflect the biodiversity of the Merbok mangrove forest. If this scientific evidence can be preserved sustainably then it can be developed as a natural tourism product for the biological category in this district in particularly.
