Abstract

Teori dan model antara pendekatan asas yang digunakan dalam kajian berkaitan reka bentuk batik. Kajian ini menjalankan analisis literatur sistematik menggunakan aliran PRISMA terhadap 13 artikel terpilih dengan meneliti penggunaan serta cadangan teori dan model dalam penyelidikan berkaitan batik Malaysia. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan antara teori tempatan yang di gunakan di dalam kajian terdahulu seperti Teori Estetika Zakaria Ali dan cadangan Model Budaya Lima Komponen, di samping adaptasi teori antarabangsa seperti ikonografi Panofsky, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), dan Design Thinking. Perbincangan disusun mengikut empat tema utama: penggunaan teori tempatan, penggunaan teori antarabangsa, cadangan model kontekstual, serta jurang teori dalam kajian sedia ada. Walaupun wujud keseimbangan penggunaan antara teori tempatan dan antarabangsa, masih terdapat kebergantungan terhadap teori luar tanpa adaptasi budaya yang mencukupi. Kajian ini menegaskan keperluan membina dan memperkukuh teori serta model tempatan yang berakar pada nilai budaya tempatan bagi menyokong analisis dalam kajian seterusnya yang lebih sistematik dan menyumbang kepada kelestarian reka bentuk batik Malaysia sebagai warisan budaya negara.
