Abstract

Kekurangan guru dalam sistem pendidikan kebangsaan berkait rapat dengan masalah kesihatan dan bersara awal. Hal itu turut memberikan impak kepada mata pelajaran yang jumlah waktu yang lebih lama seperti mata pelajaran teras wajib seperti bahasa melayu, bahasa inggeris, pendidikan Islam. Berdasarkan perkara tersebut, penyelidik membangunkan analisis keperluan dalam melibatkan sokongan dan penyertaan golongan yang berada di sektor pendidikan swasta sebagai sasaran responden kajian ini. Kajian ini dijalankan bagi menilai keperluan pasaran terhadap pembangunan program baharu Diploma Pendidikann Pascasiswazah sebagai langkah strategik menangani isu kekurangan guru serta ketidakseimbangan opsyen pengajaran di Malaysia. Kajian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif melalui soal selidik yang melibatkan 251 orang responden daripada pelbagai latar belakang organisasi dan tahap pendidikan. Instrumen kajian ini terbahagi kepada dua bahagian iaitu demografi responden yang mengandungi tiga item dan tiga item berkaitan pandangan terhadap kandungan keperluan program baharu Diploma Pendidikan Pascasiswazah di Fakulti Pendidikan Universiti Islam Selangor. Secara keseluruhannya, kajian ini mengesahkan keperluan dan sokongan terhadap pelaksanaan DPPS dalam usaha memenuhi keperluan guru pada masa hadapan. Justeru itu, pihak fakulti dapat melaksanakan proses penggubalan dan pembinaan kursus agar selari dengan keperluan pendidikan dengan mengambil kira standard pendidikan yang telah ditetapkan.

The shortage of teachers in the national education system is closely linked to health-related issues and early retirement. This challenge significantly impacts core compulsory subjects with longer instructional hours, such as Malay Language, English Language, and Islamic Education. In response, the researcher developed a needs analysis involving support and participation from stakeholders within the private education sector as the target respondents of this study. The study was conducted to assess market demand for the development of a new Postgraduate Diploma in Education program as a strategic measure to address teacher shortages and the imbalance of teaching options in Malaysia. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a survey involving 251 respondents from diverse organizational backgrounds and educational levels. The research instrument comprised two sections: respondent demographics with three items, and three items related to perceptions of the content and necessity of the new Postgraduate Diploma in Education program at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Islam Selangor. Overall, the study confirms the need for and support towards the implementation of the program as an effort to meet future teacher requirements. Accordingly, the faculty may proceed with course design and development aligned with current educational needs while adhering to established educational standards.
